Easy Mailbox Facelift
Follow these simple tips to get your mailbox looking great again!
- Replace faded or worn out numbers. You will need to purchase a new reflective plaque kit from your local Home Depot or online. This kit is specific to Wellington’s guidelines for your mailbox. It will include new reflective stickers, numbers and a plaque with hardware.
- Next, repaint mailbox post. The mailbox is held on by 4 screws.
- After you have removed the mailbox, paint the post using a satin black spray paint. We recommend using 1 can of Rust-Oleum Universal 12-oz. Universal Paint and Primer. Remember to follow the manufacturers guidelines when using spray paint.
- After you have allowed the paint to dry, reassemble the mailbox in reverse order.
We hope you enjoyed these simple tips for improving not only your mailbox but your neighborhood, too!
Helpful landscaping reminders!
Follow these simple tips to get your yard and flower beds looking great:
- Spray your lawn for weeds. Make sure you get chemicals that are safe for your particular lawn. You can research online or visit your local home improvement store.
- Replace old bark and pine straw. If using pine straw make sure you ask for long leaf pine straw. It lasts longer and looks better.
- Trim bushes and prune trees as needed.
- Remove weeds from flower beds by spraying a weed killer or pulling by hand. We recommend a weed killer. 🙂
- Mow your lawn to remove old winter grass.
- Edge your sidewalks and driveway. Edging helps to maintain control of your lawn and looks great too!
